Mats-Pers Garden is an old farm dating back to 1700. 8 km straight into the woods, between Sala and Avesta, is the little village of Bår, and furhest away in the village you will find the farm. 

My husband Lars, and I, Eva, bought the farm in may 2007 having grown tired of all the stress and hurry in Stockholm and at that time we also got an opportunity to change our lives completely. 

Our first 10 goats came to us in the summer of 2008 after I had been to a seminar at a center called Eldrimner, specialized in small food craftmanship. Now we started to plan and to build a dairy. We also bought in some more goats and a Billygoat so that we could breed. I also took some courses at Eldrimner for their very skilled teachers in how to make cheese. 

Today we have 100 milking goats and two Billygoats and we are making various kinds of cheese. We also have a small shop on the farm where you can by the cheese, homemade marmelade, biscuits and crackers, spices and tea. For the summer of 2012, we are also planning to open up a small café. In the shop you can also find handicraft made by local craftsmen. 

You are very welcome to visit us. To take a guided tour in the fields among the goats or to order a pic-nic basket, filled with different foods made by local suppliers, then you can have your pic-nic in the woods or in the close fields around the farm, hoping to see some wild animals such as venison or elks. On request, we also provides cheese tasting, call for bookings and price.
